The final segment from today got me thinking, what is the most emotionally moving thing you think Top Gear has ever done?
A lot of what I like in this is the raw simplicity. Its scored wonderfully, its scripted wonderfully, its just presented wonderfully. Its the exact opposite of a nonsense loaded review. That I'm a fanboy of the brand never hurts either.

Well, do you know part of the backstory behind this scene? They didn't know if they were getting another season, so this was their "final" piece.

I'd heard no such thing. Details? Very interesting indeed. By far my favorite TG segment of all time, I've probably watched it 20 times. It helps that the V12 Vantage is my all time favorite car. I actually got to drive one for a week a while back (it was a Carbon Black edition), long story but basically the owner handed me the keys and said "here, I'll be back in a week, don't wreck it." I was in dream land for a week. Giving it back hurt.

Hard to pick just one.
This one (Vantage V12) is definitely up there. Emotional, sublime, great scenery and videography, and a fantastic car to boot.
The caravanning episode this season made me laugh until it hurt, and I loved seeing the CX-5 come out on top.
All the ones with the McLarens (especially the trip to Spain and the TG Lap), Astons, and the newer Jags (speed train and NOS-fueled drag car don't count), the trip with the GT500, Ford GT, the Volvo S60R review, the cheap car challenges with the RWD Volvos that are related to my own, I could go on and on.
I'd honestly have to piece together my idea of a "best of Top Gear", which would probably be longer than the most recent series.
